CDI (Common Rail Direkt Injection — the general highway of direct injection) is a world contribution to technology of diesel engine manufacturing. The CDI principle allows to reduce considerably fuel consumption and emission of the fulfilled gases. The diesel engine on the basis of this principle also provides the improved comfort at the movement thanks to decrease in noise in comparison with modern forkamerny engines. Therefore the diesel engines of Mercedes-Benz (fig. 1.10) with direct injection of fuel working at the principle of Common Rail considerably surpass the previous models.
As well as all diesels Mercedes of the E-class, 4-cylinder diesel engines are equipped with the catalytic analyzer and system of removal of exhaust gases.
