7.2.3. Coupling check
Wear of coupling becomes noticeable first of all at accelerations on the highest transfer when turns of the engine grow, and the speed of the car does not increase. The test described below will help you to check operability of coupling. However it is not necessary to abuse this test. Besides, in full serviceability there has to be a parking brake.

1. Tighten the parking brake of the car and launch the engine.
2. Include the 3rd transfer, slowly release a pedal of coupling and slightly press an accelerator pedal. At correct coupling the engine has to decay. If the engine nevertheless continues to work, so automatic adjustment of a gap is on extreme border. In this case replacement of a clutch plate is necessary.
Coupling slips
Skidding of coupling is especially noticeable at the movement on the highest transfer when from the engine the maximum power is required and at loading the motor "is scrolled", that is develops considerably big turns, than it corresponds to the speed of the movement. At start wear of coupling is swept up less. The reason of it can become, besides wear or oiling of the conducted disk, wear of a flywheel and the rubbing surfaces of a press disk or weak clamping effort of coupling. As a result replacement not only conducted, but also a press disk can be required. An inspection of coupling should be carried out on STOA during scheduled works by means of the special calibration tool.

1. Launch the engine, warm up it and bring to idling turns.
2. Press against the stop a coupling pedal, wait about 3 with and include transfer of a backing. If foreign sounds are present, it means that the conducted disk is not released up to the end, and coupling is not switched off completely.
If gear shifting is followed by the creaking or crackling sounds, most likely, coupling is not switched off completely. For check carry out the test described below with inclusion of not synchronized transfer of a backing. This test allows to exclude probability that malfunction of a box of gear shifting is the reason of foreign sounds.
